home is where the heart is.

just add about 4 feet of snow
There really is no place like home. Traveling around Winona the past 48 hours that I have been home I have come to realize there really is no place like home. Between my family, my friends, my animals, and the beautiful scenery you really cant beat this. I know some people complain about how boring it is and how there is never anything to do it's home and you just can't change that. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and having my family all here means the world to me. I hope everyone has a great Christmas season and has a family who loves them to share it with.

stranded in milan...oh my!

Me and Stellie packed our bags Friday night and headed south on our way to my home town. We made a stop along the way in Milan, MN where we still sit, stranded. Today alone we have gotten about 6 inches, and with the wind that makes for some icey drifty roads. Roads that my little cavilear cannot get through. Good news is that Tims family is very welcoming and have taken us in on these frightening days, we plan to leave on wednesday which is bittersweet but I am super excited to see my family and critters. :)

Meet Tim, my boyfriend. He is 21 from Milan, MN majoring in agronomy, for those of you who dont know what that is, its farming. He is a senior here at crookston with me enjoying the winter wonderland we call home. We enjoy watching movies and going hunting together and also have a big ice fishing trip planned. And for my sister reading this dont worry you will be on here soon enough.

7 days till take off

Classes are officially done here in the tundra and I could not be happier :) I have two finals and a presentation till I get to hear my mother’s crazy Christmas music playing throughout the entire house and will be sleeping in a bed with three full size dogs. Oh yes, Christmas is my favorite holiday of all time simply because it is based around family and food. I also get to see some special family members who I rarely see, except when I make my annual 1,000 mile journey to the west coast to see my cousin Kelly ;) to say the least I am uber excited to see my parents, my sisters, my brother, and my little furry animals!

stella

meet stella. shes my crazy, energetic, mind of her own ferrett. she wakes me up everymorning and pretty much gets into anything that is in reach, even if its not she find a way. she will probably be a big part of this blog because sadly to say she brings more trouble and excitement to my life than most things..
incase you're wondering why on earth I would ever want a ferrett. well, it turns out my roomate shawn is allergic to cats and my other roomate eric already has a dog. and for my mother who is reading this, who never let me have one when i was younger, lets just say a little childhood tension was built up.

a great minnesota greeting

Im 20 years old and from the good ol' state of minnesota. Raised in Winona after high school I traveld seven hours north, yes, north to Crookston (90 miles from canada). Where I now live and go to school. I show horses and have my whole life. At school I live with 5 other people although it may be hectic at times I am having the time of my life. I also have a ferret, Stella, who me and my roomate Eric share joint custody. This blog is just an outline of my crazy life and the adventures of a college student in north west minnesota where in the winter the average temperature is -30 without wind chill.
